Studio Renovations

When we first moved to Old Trickey’s Farm, the flower field was a pony paddock and the stable over looking it housed our chickens. When we began the flower farm, and the chickens moved into a new pen, the stable became an obvious choice for a studio.

We began renovating it late last year, removing internal walls, insulating and lining with ply. With the recent lockdown, and my husband, Dave, unable to work as a self-employed plumber, we took the opportunity to really get going on it. Floor to ceiling windows were put in and what a difference that made, with so much light and views across the flower beds outside. A kitchen area was next, all made out of recycled materials that we had left over from other projects or elsewhere on the farm.

We were lucky enough to already have a large, old workbench which I use for my floristry and hope to get another sorted for the window end! I can’t wait to be able to share this space with you all soon when I am able to hold workshops.

Stay safe and well in the meantime.
